Thursday, May 20th: A visit from Monty Python, my pet ball python. She is about 10 years old, very tame and quiet. She is vet-certified to be healthy and safe to be around young children. It is a very good experience for children to see that snakes are not slimy, and to learn about this very exotic pet. We will have many fun snake activities, and the children will have an opportunity to see Monty up close. Interestingly, she is blind. She had a bad shed when I first got her, and the shin actually comes off the surface of the eye as well as the body. Her eyes were damaged when the eye caps were stuck for too long. Her sense of smell and ability to sense movement is very well developed, and she eats mice, as a constrictor, she squeezes the mice to smother them and swallows them whole. She has no teeth and does not bite. If you are a bit squeamish about snakes, she is a good one to meet! She will be well fed and clean when she comes to school.

End of the year events!!! Starting with:
Sat, May 22, MCP Rummage sale, from 8-3 pm. Clear out the attic and help MCP in the process! All proceeds go to MCP, please bring any items you would like to donate by Friday, May 21st!!!

Tuesday May 25th: Field Trip Day

Last Day of School Thursday May 27th, followed by the All school Picnic at 5 pm. Luke’s of Mundelein will be at the park selling food, 20% of the proceeds will go to MCP. Come out and say good bye to your school friends for the summer!

Please bring a clean white T-shirt on a hanger to school as soon as possible. We will be losing a day to work on them for the field trip, so we would like to get started quickly! The kids can wear their shirts to the all school picnic.
