Our Staff

Laura Davenport, Director

Laura has been a fixture at MCP since 1992, when she started here as a teacher after obtaining her degree in Early Childhood Education. In 2008 she added the title of Director to her teaching duties. In 2021 she officially retired from daily teaching but is still often found helping in the classroom and engaging with the children during special projects. All three of her children are alumni of the program and she continues to regularly demonstrate the many benefits of play-based learning!

Runa Barr, Head Teacher

Runa is our head teacher and loves teaching so much that she is here five days a week! She graduated from Chatham University with a degree in Educational Studies. She has a large collection of literature toys and loves to connect with with the children on their level. Runa is well versed in our philosophy and passionate about developing lessons to engage preschoolers in learning through play!

Nora Peck, Teacher

Nora is the assistant teacher for MWF classes and believes strongly in the play-based philosophy of MCP. Her two sons attended the school in 2019 and 2020 and she loved the community so much that she pursued becoming a member of the teaching team. She is a bright and engaging addition to the school!

Paige Kemmeling, Teacher

This is Paige's first year as the assistant teacher for T/Th classes and she is so excited to jump in! She fell in love with MCP when her daughter attended in 2021 and 2022 and knew she wanted to belong to our awesome learning community. Paige is an energetic and positive presence in our preschool!
